Ceiling stain or drip
Water can travel along rafters before it becomes visible indoors. We would typically inspect the roof covering, ridge details, valleys, flashings and penetrations above the affected area.
Trace the water path
Inspect nearby flashings
Check cracked tiles / fasteners
Confirm waterproofing condition
Why leaks hide
THE DRIP ISN'T ALWAYS THE DEFECT.
Water can enter at one point, follow timber or steel members, then show up metres away. That's why a proper roof assessment looks at overlaps, falls, penetrations, transitions and drainage — not only the ceiling stain.
